Description
light brown wood, blackish brown patina, red paint, depicted in the moment of barking, showing a kind of aggressive posture, with ducked head and alert projecting ears, min. dam., cracks, slight traces of abrasion;
the Mambila believed in a Creator, whom they used to call “nama” or “chang”. A cult only existed for family ancestors. Most of their figures are representations of the deceased. Aside they produced the well-known animal masks, protective objects and music instruments.
