Description
wood, greyish black patina, “eshu” typical neck plait, strings of cowrie shells around the neck with appendages (brass bell and miniature revolver), attached to leather band, crack, abrasion of paint, leather bands brittle, torn in some places;
devotees of “eshu” used to wear such amulets on their wrists during ritual dances and masquerades.
