Description

wood, brown patina, typical form, incised curvilinear ornaments, nose with pierced septum, slightly dam. (jagged beard), abrasion of paint;
such small masks were often worn as breast ornament or were attached to wickerwork baskets. As sacred objects they were kept in the ritual houses and were fixed to holy flutes and other sacred items.
