Johann Adelhard had made the picture from approx. of several thousand veneer plates, or, as he or, as he wrote himself, “little wooden stones”, put together. Johann Adelhard (1850-1927) was a cabinetmaker and cabinetmaker and inventor in Nuremberg. His wooden mosaics consist of 2,000 to 8,000 pieces of wood and 30-60 partly domestic domestic and partly overseas species of wood. The model here was probably a drawing by the architect and painter Christian Hinderer, (1853 Stuttgart - 1929 Nuremberg).
The old synagogue in the Hans-Sachs-Platz in Nuremberg was demolished in 1938.
